Many amateurs often overlook the importance of capturing quality audio during a video production.
Whether it’s a simple vlog, an interview, or you’re capturing a speech, a mic will insure that your audience will be able to hear you.
There are times when I haven’t used a mic to capture sound, and there are some definite dos and don’ts, which I’ll share in a later post.
As far as cameras go, yours should have a mic imput for starters, so if you’re thinking about buying a camera, that should be one of the first considerations.
I have a variety of mics. The one that I use the most is my studio mic, an ElectroVoice RE20.
I use an audio interface called a Duet (the latest version is the Duet 2) to digitize and capture audio on my Mac.
In this tutorial, I’ll show you my studio set up, and a few other mics that I have in my collection.
