how to use video on Google+ create a hangout

Google just may have hit a home run with Google+. After failed attempts like Google Wave, and Buzz, I’m finding more and more influencers, and colleagues on the site who are exploring the features, sharing content, and talking.

On the video side, the feature that many people are excited about allows you to create a video chat room called a hangout. You can invite people in your circle to participate, and if you add some screen capture software, you can create a vidcast.

In this video I will show you a basic example of what a hangout looks like courtesy Jay Smooth, who invited me in on his radio show to test it out.

The more I get into Google+, the more I like it, and some folks are saying they think it is better than Facebook, and Twitter. We’ll see about that.

  1. what screen capture software would you recommend?

We use Screenflow with a Mac Book Pro.  If you're on a PC, try Camtasia, which is also available for Macs.  I've never used it, but I hear it works great.
