A New RØDE VideoMic on the GO!

VideoMic GO

RØDE’s VideoMic GO

We’ve been building a relationship with RØDE Mics ever since we started this site.

They create great microphones for mobile devices, podcasters, and professionals. In addition, the company is constantly innovating.

Their latest product is a chip off the old VideoMic series of mics. It’s called the VideoMic Go, and it’s a directional, plug and go mic that can be used with DSLRs, point and shoot cameras, and even Go Pros (I’m wondering if it will work with my iPhone?).

Its tight pickup area focuses directly in front of the microphone and reduces other surrounding sounds, ensuring that the user can isolate their subject from distracting background noise. At only 73gm (2.5oz) it is RØDE’s lightest on-camera microphone and sports an impressively compact form factor.

Designed to be as user-friendly as possible, the VideoMic GO has no switches or settings, and is powered by the camera or recording device’s external microphone input, requiring no batteries to operate.

This mic seems to be built for portability, and ease of use.

The VideoMic Go is shipping now and you can learn more about it at rodemics.com/videomicgo.

RØDE provides Web Video Chefs with products to review. Hopefully, I will get my hands on it soon.
